The "SHHM - the Ultra Half Marathon" is organized by the SATARA RUNNERS FOUNDATION (SRF), a nonprofit organization. SRF is a group of runners, who have been organizing this event, on a voluntary & community basis, since 2012 - with a focus on keeping the "Runner" at the center of all its activities.

The Race Day is 6th September 2026 . The start time is 6:30 am, starting and ending point is Police Parade Ground, Satara City.

The Satara Runners Foundation, organizers of SHHM have long wanted to Give back to the region that has made the event one of the most popular and awaited Races of the World. And decided to 'Give Back' in the area of 'Sports' developing sporting culture, for every child to get an opportunity to explore their potential

SHHM's Philanthropy Partner, Indiacares Foundation, will identify Government Schools in and around Satara to provide equipments that can start from skipping ropes, handballs, cricket sets, footballs, based on the availability of space, badminton, tennis, basketball, to the next level as neede for every school.

Sports support the development of social skills and social behaviors, self-esteem and pro school attitudes, and, in certain circumstances, academic and cognitive development. The National Education Policy 2020 recognizes sports as a core pillar of holistic development. However, children do not have access to play spaces and sports infrastructure in their Government schools.
