Satara Runners’ Foundation wants to lend a helping hand by providing sports equipment to children studying in rural schools, thus providing students with the tools and resources necessary to engage in physical activity and participate in sports.
Sports support the development of social skills and social behaviors, self-esteem and pro school attitudes, and, in certain circumstances, academic and cognitive development.
The National Education Policy 2020 recognizes sports as a core pillar of holistic development. However, children do not have access to play spaces and sports infrastructure in their Government schools.
Having sports equipment in Indian schools means providing students with the tools and resources necessary to engage in physical activity and participate in sports.
The equipment could start from skipping ropes, handballs, cricket sets, footballs, based on the availability of space, badminton, tennis, basketball, etc.
